Plagiarism Policy
Ensuring the originality and integrity of every published work.
The International Journal of Ayurvedic & Herbal Medicine (IJAHM) has a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism. We consider plagiarism a serious breach of academic ethics and a violation of intellectual property rights.
Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:
- Direct copying of text from other sources without attribution.
- Paraphrasing large sections of another's work without proper citation.
- "Self-plagiarism" or duplicate publication (submitting the same work to multiple journals).
- Using data, images, or ideas from others without explicit permission and acknowledgment.
Screening Process
All submitted manuscripts are screened for originality using industry-standard plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin or iThenticate).
- Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding 20% (excluding references) are typically returned to the author for revision or rejected outright.
- Any evidence of direct "copy-paste" of results or critical discussion will lead to immediate rejection.
Action Against Plagiarism
If plagiarism is detected after publication:
- The journal will conduct an investigation following COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines.
- If confirmed, a formal Notice of Retraction will be published, and indexing services will be notified.
- The authors may be barred from submitting to the journal for a specified period.
Authors are encouraged to ensure all sources are properly cited before submission.
