Retraction Policy

Transparent procedures for correcting the scholarly record.

The International Journal of Ayurvedic & Herbal Medicine (IJAHM) follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for retracting articles. Retractions are used to correct the academic record and should not be seen as a "punishment" for authors.

Grounds for Retraction

An article may be retracted if:

  • There is clear evidence that the results are unreliable, either due to honest error or deliberate misconduct (e.g., fabrication or falsification).
  • It constitutes plagiarism.
  • It reports unethical research.
  • The findings have previously been published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing.

Retraction Process

  1. Investigation: The Editor-in-Chief will investigate any reports of misconduct or significant error.
  2. Notification: Authors will be given a chance to respond to the findings.
  3. Publication: A formal Notice of Retraction will be published in the current issue and linked to the original article.
  4. Marking: The original PDF will be watermarked as "RETRACTED," but will remain accessible to maintain the transparency of the historical record.

Corrections

In cases where only a small part of an otherwise reliable article is misleading, a Correction (Erratum or Corrigendum) may be issued instead of a full retraction.
