Osteoporosis is characterized by low bone mass and loss of bone tissue that may lead to weak and fragile bones and increased risk for fracture of bones. Osteopenia is considered to be a precursor to osteoporosis. In India, osteoporosis is emerging as an important public health problem with increasing numbers of elderly. In Ayurveda under the heading “Asthi kshaya” many signs and symptoms described can closely be correlated with this clinical entity.Laksha guggulu & Mukta shukti pishti are in practice for the disorder of the Asthivaha Srotasa.
